Hal has 15 years experience with MSU Extension. He currently serves as County Extension Director in Tuscola County and from 1993 until early 2005 served as CED in Clare County. Previou to that, Hal served as Extension 4-H Youth Agent in Sanilac County (1987 - 93). Hal joined the State and Local Government Area of Expertise team in 2002.

Dr. Hal Hudson has 17 years experience with MSU Extension. He currently serves as county Extension director in Tuscola County and served as county Extension director in Clare county from 1993 – 2004. Prior to that, he served as Extension 4-H Youth Agent in Sanilac County (1987 - 93). Hal joined the State and Local Government Area of Expertise team in 2002. As county Extension director, Hal has extensive experience working with the Clare County Board of Commissioners in addressing issues of concern affecting the community. He served as co-facilitator in the county being designated as a federal Enterprise Community with the United States Department of Agriculture. The $2.5 million designation is for a 10-year period and provides seed money to match with local organizations to address over 50 benchmarks included in the strategic plan in areas of economic development, quality of life, and health and human services. He served as facilitator for Clare County receiving Renaissance Zone designation with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Hal received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University , his Master of Extension Education and B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his A.S. in Agriculture from Lake Land College in Mattoon , IL .
