Adobe Acrobat is a computer program that enables documents created on different types of computers and using different software to be exchanged. Exchangeable documents created by Acrobat are saved in Portable Document Format (PDF).  Downloading a read-only copy is free.  The Adobe Acrobat Reader software will require about 1.5 megabytes on your hard drive. 
Adobe recommends the following: For Windows you need a 386, 486 or Pentium based personal computer Microsoft Windows 3.1, 95 or 98, a minimum of 4 megabytes (MB) of RAM and a 1.44 MB 3.5" floppy disk drive (if you are installing from a disk).  For Macintosh you need a 68020 or later processor Apple System 7.0 or later 2 MB of application RAM.
